My Week In 500 Words
In the last few days I have been reflecting on the year so far, and one of the things that really stood out for me was: “there is ALWAYS another level!”
What do I mean by this?
At work we can always aspire to go one position higher, to have a pay rise; in terms of fitness after we have lost some weight we can tone our body; in relationships we find someone we like, we start dating and so on!
It does not matter what area of our lives, there always is another level, something new, something else beyond of what we know, where growth and evolution are found.
The reality is some people love the idea of always going that extra mile and jumping onto the next level; others, well, their circumstances vary, and some may not feel worthy of it, or they don’t know there is another level or they might be conditioned to think that where they are is where they are meant to be!
For me this other level has been really obvious in 3 areas: health, fitness and work; so by constantly working for the next level I have experienced satisfaction like never before, the results speak for themselves, I feel energised, I see many more possibilities than before and I have been asking myself the following question:
Why didn’t it do this before?
The level of activity and performance I have been experiencing is so inspiring for myself that I couldn’t believe something held me back and stopped me from hitting my next level without even knowing about it.
It’s funny how the stories we tell ourselves seem to override logic and willpower. I have found that I am not doing more than before, in fact, it seems the opposite, my focus is so detailed that I do more in less time and I have some time left to do things I love.
Something else that have been in my mind, in fact it is quite exciting and scary at the same time is that for the very first time in more than 15 years I will be spending two weeks with my brother.
I left Panama when I was 19 years of age and my younger brother was only 11, it is fair to say we don’t know much about each other, and it is going to be a rediscovery for the both us.
We have seen each other and spent short periods of time in the 15 years gone, though we have not lived with each other for what seems a lifetime!
I have been joking saying: I have read all the books on siblings, and that I have been practicing how to be an older brother again!!!
The next couple of weeks will definitely be full of excitement and fun, I will keep you all informed.
So, that’s my week in 500 words.
Thank you for reading, till next time, with all my love,
Looks like you are totally levelling up, my friend. I love to see the progress you’ve made. Well done!
